CDU vs. PDU

What's the difference?

At Server Technology, we're partial to the term "CDU" to describe our products. It means cabinet power distribution unit. The CDU defines the exact location of our products - in the cabinet - as well as describing where our particular power expertise and engineering specialty lies - power management in the cabinet and to your servers.

The term PDU - power distribution unit - can be confusing, since it can mean a cabinet PDU like the ones from Server Technology, or it can mean the PDU that is attached to the uninterrupted power supply (UPS). This PDU powers large areas of the data center.
